Just Announced! The DEAD KENNEDYs are coming to Oakland! The Dead Kennedy’s are one of the most popular and important hardcore punk bands of the late 70’s/early 80’s and they formed right here in San Francisco. July 1978 marks their very first show at the “Fab Mab:” a Filipino restaurant in SF’s North Beach that served as a punk band platform for over a decade. Essential to the American hardcore punk movement, they were one of the first ones to make an impact in the UK as well. Chaos and theatrics have always described their shows and The Uptown is a perfect place to mosh for Oakland’s dedicated punk following.
