In partnership with LA Phil, KCRW’s 15th annual World Music Festival announces their Summer Series lineups.
The renowned shows will take place on Summer Sundays at 7pm and always include a diverse pool of talent from around the world. Things will start off on:
June 23: She & Him and Emmylou Harris & Rodney Crowell
Duo Zooey Deschanel and M. Ward, also known as She & Him, will be performing in collaboration with Emmylou Harris & Rodney Crowell.
June 30: Reggae Night XII
A reggae-themed night, with Damian “Junior Gong” Marley performing with Stephen Marley.
July 30: Rodrigo y Gabriela and Devotchka
Rocker DeVotchKa will share the night with acoustic guitar duo Rodrigo y Gabriela of Mexico.
August 4th: The Sun Ra Arkestra, Oliver Mtukudzi
While the headliner for this day has yet to be announced, fans can listen as Sun Ra Arkestra transports spectators with their other-worldly grooves and Zimbabwe’s Olivier Mtukudzi to finish off the job.
August 25: Goat Rodeo, Yo-Yo Ma – Stuart Duncan, Edgar Meyer – Chris Thile , Aoife O’Donovan (guest)
This blend of jazz, bluegrass, and even Celtic stylings will include Yo-Yo Ma, Stuart Duncan, and others.
September 22: M83 with the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, Phantogram
This will be M83’s debut performance at the Bowl alongside the HB Orchestra. Phantogram will also take the stage as the opening act for the evening.
Additional artists and headliners will be announced as these dates approach.
