Watch: Ulrich Schnauss Releaes New Video For “A Ritual In Time and Death”

Ulrich Schnauss will release his much anticipated electronic album, A Long Way to Fall on February 12th, with his featured track “A Ritual In Time and Death.”

A Long Way To Fall returns to its roots with hard hitting rhythms and work from his trade mark album Strangley Isolated Place. Schnauss weaves new textures with his classic sonic sound for his audience to witness his unique style. He is thrilled to release his new video, “A Ritual in Time and Death,” directed by visual artist Nat Urezmatova’s.

“Throughout the last decade, I recorded three albums that were trying to translate the early 90’s shoegaze aesthetic into an electronic context. After finishing the last album, Goodbye, I felt a need for a change of direction. At the same time, my music taste was changing drastically. While I had spent a couple of years mainly listening to songwriting based music (a lot of ‘indie’/band-type stuff), I was now rediscovering my love for electronic music based on more open structures. This provided the main inspiration of trying to record an album that would celebrate the synthesizer as the very capable musical instrument that it is, but without the need to disguise it behind a wall of echo and reverb. What satisfies me the most about this album is that I think I’ve managed to create a record that has a coherent, cohesive narrative.”

Schnauss’s A Long Way To Fall will release 10 new songs that is his most diverse album to date. His tracks range from high tempo rhythms to mesmerizing sounds that will send a rapid second pulse to your nerves. Check out “Broken Homes” and “The Weight of Darkening Skies” as tracks worth mentioning in his climatic pieces. His first single, “I Take Comfort In Your Ignorance” penetrates the eardrums of audiences to desire more.
