The Strokes Confirmed Working On New Full-Length Album

After much speculation, details have finally emerged about a new Strokes album. This will be the band’s fifth studio album.

As Consequence of Sound reports, the band supposedly sent in their new single, “All the Time”, to Seattle’s 107.7 The End. It was confirmed that the single is intended to be the first single off their new album.

Release dates for the new album haven’t been announced as of yet but the album is expected to drop sometime this year.

107.7 The End also commented that they have heard two new tracks off the band’s album. They had this to say about the new material,

While RCA is keeping most of the details of the forthcoming new full length album (yes, you read that correctly) under wraps, we can tell you that of the two songs we heard, one was a more synth driven track, with the other (the aforementioned, “All The Time”) packing a classic strokes sound. No mention of a tour came up, but we can tell you, you’ll be hearing new music from the band sooner than later.

The station also noted that they haven’t gotten any details about an upcoming tour.

Members of the Strokes have been keeping busy lately with Albert Hammon Jr. performing at Petty Fest, and efforts made for Julian Casablancas to contribute to the score for She’s Lost Control.

Keep an eye on MXDWN for further announcements about the new album.
