Trent Reznor and Jimmy Iovine are pairing up to create a new way of streaming music. The project, Daisy, will compete with existing companies such as Rhapsody, Spotify, and Rdio to cater to all of your music needs.
According to Spin, Daisy is set to launch in the second half of 2013. The music generator will not only use a mathematical algorithm to discover new music for you, but will also use recommendations from music experts. Reznor explained that what current music players are missing is a layer of intelligence. Daisy not only will have music but also photos, videos, and products (including tickets and merchandise) provided by artists. The program is really set to be a one-stop shop for all of your music needs. Iovine added that existing music players lack an emotional feeling and connection to the music. Daisy hopes to re-install this connection that Iovine says has slipped away. Of course, since Daisy is partnered with Beats by Dre, it is expected that listeners will use the headphones when using Daisy.
