Back in late December, the experimental hardcore/grindcore super group United Nation announced that they were added two new unnamed members from Pianos Become The Teeth to the group. The band, who at one time featured both Geoff Rickly (lead singer of Thursday) and Daryl Palumbo (lead singer of Glassjaw/Head Automatica) has a line-up that seemingly functions like a revolving door. Rickly has been the only member to be confirmed, with the number of other members all officially remaining anonymous. Members of Converge, The Number 12 Looks Like You, and Make Out of Babies have all been rumored to be part of the band.
This mysterious supergroup played their first show on the day of President Obama’s first inauguration back in 2009 in Washington DC. With the President winning his second election, United Nations too will repeat history and play on January 20th as Obama is again sworn into office. The band has scheduled a handful of other dates around their show in the nation’s capital. On January 21st, they will stop by in Philadelphia to play at the Barbary. Joining them on stage will be Old Lines, Black Clouds and Braille. Brooklynvegan is stating that for this short tour United Nations’ lineup will consist of Geoff Rickly, Ben Koller (Converge), Lukas Previn (Thursday, Regents) and Jim Carroll (The Hope Conspiracy) but the only way to be sure is to make your way out to the show!
