Vampire Weekend fans can rejoice. As Consequence of Sound reported, the band has just announced plans to release their third album sometime this Spring.
The to-be-titled album was recorded in Los Angeles and New York City. The album does not have an official release date as of yet but fans can expect the material to follow suit after the first two albums. Ezra Koenig, frontman of Vampire Weekend, has described the work as “dark” and “organic.”
The band’s own Rostam Batmanglij joined forces with Ariel Rechtshaid (who has worked with Usher and Major Lazer) to produce the album. Batmanglij had this to say about the band’s effort,
You want the personality of each performer — whether it’s singing or bass or drums or piano — to be intact. The way this album sounds is the product of thinking forward and being fearless in terms of mixing and production, going for something that hasn’t been done before but using elements and techniques that have existed for years and years, pushing them as far as they can go.
Mxdwn will definitely keep track of any new details that are released about the album.
