This past October Bad Books released their second album since forming in 2010. For a group that was never planned, they have been making quite a name for themselves in a short two years. At their core, the band is comprised of indie-folk singer Kevin Devine and singer-songwriter/guitarist of Manchester Orchestra Andy Hull. As the duo began to full out their sound, they invited more members from Hull’s band Manchester Orchestra to fill in. Despite keeping because with their own individual efforts Devine and Hull managed to come out with a second album in only two short years. Simply entitled II, it showcases both pushing the band from beginning known just by their other projects to creating a true identity.
This winter, Bad Books will hit the road touring in support of II. They stop at World Cafe Live on February 21st for a Thursday night show. Joining them on stage will be Weatherbox and local-ish (New Jersey’s local right?) boys The Front Bottoms.
