Charges against ex-Cro-Mags bassist Harley Flanagan, who stood accused of stabbing present Cro-Mags bassist Mike Couls in the arm and stomach at New York’s CBGB Fest over the summer, have been dropped, according to Flanagan’s lawyer, Sean Parmenter.
The hardcore punk musician, who faced charges of second degree assault and criminal possession of a weapon, was let go after prosecution dismissed the case due to insufficient evidence. Despite conflicting claims by those attacked by Flanagan, the ex-band member claimed he wanted to visit the band just to bury the hatchet. Further, Flanagan, who sustained a broken leg in the fight, claimed he was only acting in self-defense, with current Cro-Mags bandmates Mike Couls and William Berario being the first to attack.
