Coachella 2013 Lineup Announced!…Just Kidding (Fake Posters)

With 2012 coming to a close, it is not too early to think about what is to come in 2013. Then again, I’m sure that avid Coachella fans have been thinking about next year’s lineup since the last note was played this past spring. Unfortunately, we will all have to wait just a little bit longer. In case you’ve seen any posters floating around, try not to get your hopes up too high; they’re not real. Read on for more details.

The rumors started a hair early this with the image below surfacing on the Twitter page of Santa Monica venue, Central Social Aid & Pleasure Club.

The tweet read:

@theCentralSAPC Hey look, it’s a fake @Coachella poster (already) pic.twitter.com/2n3JCqbK

According to StarzUncut, the source they retrieved the “lineup poster” from is the same that indicated Refused’s reunion after two decades. Since the source was correct, as the band is concluding their reunion tour this weekend, it would seem plausible to believe the lineup below.

This one seems a little bit more believable, but we can’t be too sure about it until it is officially released.

And just for kicks, here’s a hologram lineup. I guess after Tupac showed up at the festival last year, it opened up a whole slew of opportunities to enjoy the presence of some of our late favorites.

The topic of fake lineup posters is so popular it has earned itself its own thread on the Coachella forum. It appears that many of the posters shared throughout the posts are self-created by the users and the lineups are simply their hopes of who will take the stage during the festival. The wide variety of artists is quite impressive, and if one of these lineups end up being close to the real thing, or even correct, then we would be in for quite the performance. Check out the posters below:

These two are a little less believable with the font alterations, but the make-believe line up is pretty interesting:

UPDATE:
Just a few days shy of 2013, LA Weekly picked up on some other floating posters and thought for a second, “Hmm.. Is this real?” Who knows how quickly someone told them that their story was indeed based on a joke flyer, but they ran the story nonetheless. Here is the lineup the blogger thought to be true:

According to the story though, there may be some truth — but that small ounce of faith has yet to be confirmed. Apparently, the Rolling Stones hinted via their mobile application that they will be at that very same desert on the very same day that the Coachella 2013 dates are confirmed.

Guess we will have to wait until the final lineup is released to know whether or this screen shot was the result of a bug in the application or the actual truth.

UPDATE:
More posters have surfaced and become viral. With all the fantasy lineups coming about, it is easy to see who the crowd wants to be on stage this year.

As of right now, the only thing confirmed for Coachella is that fans will continue to make the trek out to the desert for quite some time, thanks to the agreement made by Goldenvoice and the city of Indio, CA.

Stay tuned to see what else could be floating around before the official announcement.
