Good news for all the world’s 65kids: Instrumental electro–rock outfit 65daysofstatic has confirmed their sixth studio release is under way. The four-member group has also announced the release of recent live set, The Coach Road Session, which is now available through the band’s official web store.
In a recent bulletin on the 65daysofstatic website, the math-rock band came forth with the news of their upcoming LP with a cryptic teaser statement.
Meanwhile, back in 65 world, we’re in the belly of the whale, the shark’s mouth, the viper’s nest. Protect the queen! Album number 6 is rising/hatching/forming like so many Terminator/Jurassic Park/The Thing analogies. This could be the weirdest one yet, but you’re going to have to wait a little longer.
We’ll just have to be patient, but in the meantime we’ve been given The Coach Road Session, four-track live recording made just after the group’s fifth release, Silent Running, which believe it or not was a re-imagined score of the 1970s sci-fi film of same name. Also, Aussie and East Asian 65ers are in luck, as the band is slated for a December–January whirl starting in Sydney and finishing in Perth, Australia, then onto all the Asian hotspots, beginning in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and finishing in Beijing, China. Check below for the full tour schedule.
