French electro–shoegazers M83 have just released a trilogy of videos stemming from their high-charting sixth studio album, Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming. The epic vids, “Midnight City,” “Reunion” and the latest, “Wait,” are chained together in an ethereal narrative of children with superhuman abilities.
Composer–frontman Anthony Gonzalez enlisted the help of Parisian directors Fleur & Manu to bring his three-part fantasy to life. Anthony, who concedes he is more inspired by cinema than music itself, says album Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming was conceived in the spirit of a soundtrack, only for an imaginary movie. Now with this trilogy, the images in his head have finally come to life.
