Following their November 26 show in Koln, Germany, Shirley Manson of Garbage fired off on Twitter about the fans at that show.
Bold comments by Manson came following their show at E-Werk in Koln. For those unfamiliar with Twitter lingo, the username first mentioned (and in bold) is the author of the ‘tweet.’ The following usernames mentioned (not in bold) are who the comments are directed towards. This vulgar conversation first started with Manson’s initial ‘tweet.’
@garbage Koln you were so strangely subdued! Sold out show but so cold? Funny. I know you love us but why couldn’t you show it? We still love you. Sx
But one of her followers named Conor Furlong, took this general statement personally and responded to Manson’s comment with a snarky reaction, provoking Manson to be frustrated:
@ConorFurlong @garbage do you really think it’s alright to publicly criticise your fans, who’ve paid to go to your gig, for not worshiping you enough?
@garbage @ConorFurlong oh PULEASe BLOW ME
Another fan named Nessy chimed in with a similar comment, which yielded another rude reply:
@nessymon @garbage @ConorFurlong I’m sorry Shirley, I own every record you’ve released & love your music but my estimation of you has hit the floor
@nessymon @ConorFurlong @garbage wow, this weeks radio show has yet to go out… might include this tirade of abuse…
@garbage @nessymon oh I’m shaking in my fucking shoes
@ConorFurlong @garbage @nessymon you called your fans “cold”. That’s suposed to be nice after they’ve paid and travelled to see you play?
@garbage @ConorFurlong YUP FUCK OFF DUDE. I’m not in the LEAST charming. Never said I was. Ha ha ha ha…..goodbye…sad you are so sensitive HA! sx
Recently the Twitter account had been hacked by someone who pretending to be a drunk Manson. Tweets were posted asking “really attractive girls” if they could post photos of themselves. The validity of those tweets has yet to be confirmed. No word from the band on this situation. Stay tuned.
