Black Rebel Motorcycle Club announced yesterday November 12th via their facebook page they would be announcing something big this morning. At around 10 am pacific time, it was posted that BRMC will be playing 3 west coast dates in December. It is not known when or where these shows will take place, only that tickets will be sold through presale occurring Thursday, November 15th. These will be BRMC’s only live dates in 2012, and new material from the upcoming album, which the band has been very hush about for the greater portion of the year, will be performed. It is a requirement to sign up for the email newsletter on the main page of the site to recieve an access code for this presale.
In the same Facebook update announcing the 3 mystery shows, it was stated that another announcement was coming at 11 am pst. Some eager BRMC fans had already figured this particular announcement out because it had been posted, and then quickly removed from BRMC’s website under a set of lyrics recently added. It is officially stated that they will be headlining Friday night of Austin Psych Fest, curated by Austin’s Reverberation Appreciation Society, and The Black Angels.
It seemed Austin Psych Fest and BRMC had attempted to coordinate the release of this info to occur at the same time. An hour or so after the news was originally slated to go up, BRMC finally updated their Facebook page with the info, while Austin Psych Fest’s still states a promise of news at 1pm cst. Regardless, both websites now reflect the announcement. BRMC’s looking now as it had before the info was taken down the first time, and Austin Psych Fest’s with more info on the fest, and additional lineup confirmations.
BRMC has said that these are only the first of many updates the band will be releasing. It is best to keep up with the them via their Facebook as there has been no activity via their official twitter account regarding this news.
