Last night, Thursday November 1, Lamb of God was forced to cancel a tour date in Las Vegas due to front-man Randy Blythe becoming ill. The tour date was part of their 38-date Fall tour. There is no official word yet what illness the singer is ailing from.
Contactmusic.com reports however that it does sound serious.
Waiting until the last minute to announce the cancellation in the hopes the singer would bounce back, the group took to the stage after its opening act In Flames wrapped up its set, saying, “Randy couldn’t get out of bed today. He’s incredibly sick, he had a doctor come see him who told him to stay in bed for 24 hours at least. We waited until the last minute, and Randy couldn’t even speak English. He is not doing well…
“I can’t believe this has happened. We’ve never cancelled a show. We all feel terrible about it. We really appreciate you guys coming out… We’d love to play for you, but I’m sorry we can’t do it tonight.”
Due to Blythe’s sickness, openers In Flames played an extended set. Unfortunately this isn’t the only recent woe for the singer. Blythe also recently spent five weeks in a Czech prison. A fan attending a Lamb of God show was thrown off the stage and died a month later, allegedly due to injuries sustained from the fall. Blythe was facing a possible conviction and long-term jail sentence.
The cancelled show has been rescheduled for December 12th and the tickets will still be valid.
