Monster Massive 2012 Canceled Last Minute, Second Consecutive Year

Go Ventures‘ Monster Massive 2012 was canceled last minute, making this the second year in row the event surprisingly shut down. After some speculation confirmed by a disappointing announcement for ticketholders and EDM fans last year, it almost comes as no surprise that this popular Halloween event again slips through the cracks. Read on for more details.

At 10:00 p.m. on October 26, (aka the night before the main event), the following statement was released on Monster Massive’s facebook and official website:

It is with great sadness that we must inform our loyal clients that Monster Massive 2012 has been canceled. Rest assured that all those that have purchased ticket will be refunded immediately. If you purchased your ticket at any of the outlets, please take your hard ticket back to the outlet for refund. if you purchased tickets online, all online retailers have been instructed to refund ticket holders immediately.

Monster Massive 2012 was to be held at L.A. Center Studios. Last year’s cancellation was due to the fact that the planners behind Monster Massive never secured a venue. This idea is not far-fetched for this year either considering that a mysterious message was sent to ticket holders that indicated they would receive a private message with the name of the venue. But this time around, the reason has yet to be announced. Regrets have been posted and refunds have been promised, but reasons have yet to be announced.

The line up for this sold-out event included Louie Vega, Frankie Knuckles, and David Morales with sets by DJ Reza and DJ Swedish Egil. Such a shame that what was shaping up to be a spectacular event, collapsed at the last minute.

Oddly enough, this devastating news did not spread like wildfire or instantly go viral as one would expect. OC Weekly reported this unfortunate incident around 1:30 p.m., still the afternoon of the event.

We’ll update you if any official word comes on why the event was canceled. R.I.P Monster Massive 2012: Music lover’s “woulda, coulda, shoulda” event of the year.
