Hurricane Sandy Causes Several Artists to Postpone East Cost Performances Including Freedom to Love Now! Concert, The xx, Swans, Deftones and More

Hurricane Sandy is currently hitting the east coast. Many events in and around New York are being cancelled and postponed due to the potential damage of the storm. New York based Brooklyn Vegan and Consequence of Sound are frequently updating events that are being postponed and cancelled. Swans was one of the last bands who held out as long as possible before cancelling. It is an unfortunate act of nature but it is better to stay inside and be safe because no one really knows the damage Hurricane Sandy is capable of.

List of artists effected by Hurricane Sandy:
Bruce Spingsteen and the E Street Band have postponed their Tuesday night (10/30) concert in Rochester, NY to Wednesday (10/31).

The Freedom to Love Now! Concert event featuring The National, Rufus Wainwright, Reggie Watts and Doveman has been postponed, likely sometime to in the spring.

The xx have postponed this weeks events in New York, Philadelphia and Baltimore. Ticket holders are encouraged to hold onto their tickets.

Deftones have postponed their concerts in New York and Philadelphia

Aimee Mann and Ted Leo have rescheduled their Monday night (10/29) concert to Wednesday (10/31)

Swans have postponed their concert with Devendra Banhart at the Brooklyn’s Music Hall of Williamsberg.

The Soft Moon and Pop 1280 have cancelled their event at the Bowery Ballroom

Jimmy Kimmel Live!, The Daily Show and The Colbert Report have been cancelled. The Late Show with David Letterman and Late Night with Jimmy Fallon will air but without a live studio audience.

Grouplove’s Monday Night show in Washington DC have been postponed. As of now there is no news on Tuesday night’s.

Heartless Bastards have cancelled Monday night’s concert at Union Transfer in Philadelphia.

Rusko has changed Sunday night’s show in New York City to New Year’s Eve. He is also postponing Tuesday night’s concert in Sayreville, NJ.

Pat Kiernan trivia night at The Bell House is cancelled.

Joshua Radin & The Fine Frenzy at the Best Buy Theater is cancelled.

Lee DeWyze at the Highline Ballroom is cancelled.

Alicia Keys’ Black Ball charity concert featuring Beyonce and Alabama Shakes at the Hammerstein Ballroom has been postponed.

Aesop Rock has postponed his concerts in Charlotesville, VA, Baltimore, MD, Northampton, MA, South Burlington, VT, Providence, RI, and New Haven, CT.

Cypress Hill and Action Bronson have postponed their event at New York’s Best Buy Theater.

The listening parties for Toro y Moi’s new album have been rescheduled for November 9th-11th at Brooklyn’s Project Parlor.

The Smashing Pumpkins have cancelled their Halloween concert at Barclay’s Arena in Brooklyn. It will be rescheduled. Their concert in Camden, NJ has been rescheduled for December 8th and their concert in Fairfax, VA has been rescheduled for December 9th. Their concert in Uncasville, CT has been postponed and the rescheduled date will be released soon.

Meat Loaf at the Beacon Theater on Thursday 11/1 is postponed.

Woodkid has cancelled his concerts in NY, Los Angles and San Fransisco due to airport problems.
