Rooney Mara and Ryan Gosling Mock Perform with The Black Lips To Film Scene for Upcoming Terrence Malick Movie

Watch as actors Rooney Mara and Ryan Gosling take the stage with The Black Lips to film a scene for Terrence Malick’s new movie.

In the world of film Rooney Mara and Ryan Gosling are two of Hollywood’s hot young actors. Mara recently starred in The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo and captured audiences in Drive. They have been cast in Terrence Malick’s new film, who is known for his poetic imagery with films such as The Thin Red Line and last year’s The Tree of Life. Malick often keeps a lot of mystery surrounding each of his movies which is why it is intriguing that Mara, Gosling and Malick appeared on stage during The Black Keys performance at Austin City Limits music festival. Paste reports it is for a scene in Malick’s upcoming film. You can watch the fan footage below.

In the footage you can see Mara pretending to strum on a guitar while a camera crew films her. Ryan Gosling can be seen off the stage. It is unknown whether this footage will actually make it into the movie. Terrence Malick will often cut scenes and actors from his movies. It should be noted this isn’t the first time he filmed actors playing with musicians onstage: last year he filmed Christian Bale playing bongos with Fleet Foxes.
