After a lot of drama, All Tomorrow’s Parties festival in Tokyo has been canceled.
As Pitchfork mentioned in an article, the Tokyo festival was at first postponed because of low ticket sales. Now the event is canceled all together due to artist and venue availability. The lineup was supposed to be curated by Jim O’Rourke, as was reported in a previous mxdwn article, and was to include musical stylings by himself, Neu!’s Michael Rother, Codeine, the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, Nisennenmondai, the Magic Band, the Drones, Factory Floor, the Necks, and Borbetomagus. Although the event turned out to be unsuccessful, a 2013 event is apparently in the works.
