With an ever developing style, and an experimental take on which member fills what shoes, avant-garde folk psych band Animal Collective is heavy on the impromptu creative side. Collective really is a better word to use than band per se, as the sound really is a meshing together of various styles presented by each member involved. New album, and now 10th studio release for those who have only recently heard of this project in modern times, Centipede Hz shows a more aggressive representation. Tearing vocals, woozy beats, little whimsical psych dripping notes, and a little bit of “hold the poppier leaning styles, please.” A bit of a different direction, but no less of an amazing show, whatever era of songs, or albums the band will be treating the audience to.
