EMI is releasing the 2012 remixed and remastered version of Massive Attack’s classic Blue Lines album on November 21. The new version is from the original recording at the band’s studios in Bristol.
The recording was originally released in April 1991 off of Virgin Records. Blue Lines was an unique amalgamation of breakbeats, samples, live instrumentation and vocals ranging from feminine soul to tenacious rapping. Blue Lines has bits of punk, reggae, dub, rock, electro and hip-hop. It remains one of the most influential British albums ever.
The 2012 version will be sold on a single CD format, standard ad high resolution digital downloads, and as a deluxe box with the CD and DVD.
