Tony Brandenburg, lead singer of The Adolescents, is in the midst of a tremulous feud with the school board of Sierra Madre and the greater Pasadena Unified school district. Brandenburg claims the school, parents and board of education vice president Edward Honowitz discriminate against his son.
Brandenburg’s son suffers from sensory processing distorter, a neurological problem that stresses the mind when overstimulated. The distorter is associated with autism. Brandenburg claims that instead of learning about his son’s distorter and trying to find ways to help him Edward Honowitz and other parents have held secret meetings and have attempted to ostracize Brandenburg’s son.
Brandenburg and his wife are organizing rallies and protests calling for Honowitz’s resignation. The case is being picked up among various autism support websites and they are gaining a lot of support on Facebook.
