Following last year’s reunion tour, seminal grunge rockers Soundgarden have announced that their new album, King Animal, will be released Nov 13th. The announcement came in a recent Rolling Stone interview and solidifies what will be their first studio release since 1996s Down on the Upside. Regarding the album, guitarist Kim Thayil who says:
It re-establishes that we still rock, we’re still heavy, and we’re still a little weird.
Additionally, he confirmed that tracks titled ‘Blood On The Valley Floor’ and ‘A Thousand Days Before’ will appear on the record.
Soundgarden officially re-united in 2010 wrapping up a 12-year hiatus. In that time, the members were involved in various efforts that included Kim Thayil working with Sunn O))) and Boris, Matt Cameron joining Pearl Jam on drums and Chris Cornell putting out a solo album as well as fronting the now (thankfully) defunct Audioslave.
Check out the video below for their single “Live to Rise”, released earlier as part of The Avengers soundtrack.
