The Austin City Council has approved a proposal for Austin City Limits, the music festival, to add two weekends in 2013. The next step is for the city manager to negotiate an agreement with the festival’s promoter, C3 Presents.
With C3 Presents, the festival would then occur on October 4 to 6 and October 11 to 13. C3 would also increase funding and donations to improve Austin Parks (including Auditorium Shores), pay for more security guards and cleanup crews in nearby neighborhoods during the festival and also leave Zilker Park’s Great Lawn (a section of the festival grounds) open to the public during the four days between the two weekends.
