Frank Ocean released a new song called “Golden Girl,” featuring Tyler, The Creator. This single is a bonus cut on the Channel Orange album. It is an exclusive track, meaning it is not available on the shelves of several local stores, such as Target. Read on for more details.
There was a short lived incident between Target and Christian Clancey, Frank Ocean’s manager. He questioned Target’s reluctance to place this single track on the shelves, suspecting that it may be due to Ocean’s sexual orientation. However, Target does not sell CDs of songs that “originate as iTunes exclusives.” Needless to say, Clancey back down.
It was pointed out, though, that Target had contributed to a group in Minnesota that was an alleged anti-gay ministry supporter. Perhaps this is purely coincidence. Either way, you can listen to “Golden Girl” here:
