The band Grandaddy’s Jason Lytle will release a new solo album, Dept of Disappearance, on October 16th. The album will follow his critically acclaimed 2009 album, Yours Truly, the Commuter.
Dept of Disappearance is reminiscent of a series of film soundtracks, and was compared by Lytle to a room full of “strange, brilliant autistic kids with very peculiar social skills. But there are a few conventional, good-looking ones who go out and shake hands and get the good jobs. Then they come home and help take care of the other weird, wonderful ones.”

Grandaddy, after breaking up in 2006, will be reunited for a series of shows in August, followed by Lytle’s solo tour dates in fall.
