Several people were stabbed at a recent Swedish House Mafia show at Phoenix Park in Dublin, Ireland this past weekend. The show was part of their farewell tour.
A reported 45,000 people attended the show, which also featuring Snoop Dogg, Tinie Tempah and Calvin Harris.
A 23-year old man reportedly stabbed as many as four people, and was arrested and charged with the incident.
Five more people were injured due to a mele involving broken bottles and knives. Three people were seriously injured, and one was left in critical condition. BBC News also reported that a 20-year old male died at the show due to a suspected drug overdose.
Roughly 30 people were arrested and released after police charged them with assault, as well as carrying drugs onto the concert grounds.
Denis Desmond, the MD of concert promoters MCD issued a statement in regards to the incidents:
“Ticket holders entering the site were subject to a search permissible by law. Every precaution, as far as possible, was taken to ensure the safety and security of the audience at all times. Despite our best efforts – with security and gardaí personnel levels well in excess of the required numbers for a licensed event of this size – there is only so much one can do to combat anti-social behaviour.”
