The Orb Featuring Lee Scratch Perry Announce New Album THE ORBSERVER in the star house For August 2012 Release

The Orb is set to release their new studio album on August 28th on The End Records, featuring reggae artist Lee Scratch Perry.
The album, to be titled “THE ORBSERVER in the star house,” was set in motion back in 2004, when The Orb founder Alex Paterson played a DJ set with Lee Scratch Perry in Mexico.
The Orb member Thomas Fehlmann says that before their first session with Perry, he and Alex had never created so much live music on the spot.
Along with new songs, the album will contain two new versions of oldies from each party. “Police and Thieves,” the Lee Scratch Perry single from 1976, is turned into a dubwise track, whereas The Orb’s 1990 single “Little Fluffy Clouds” is given a dancehall overhaul.
The Orb has released over twenty projects since their debut in the late 1980s; their last collaboration was on 2010’s Metallic Spheres with Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour. Lee Scratch Perry, who turned 76 this March, has been releasing music since the 1960s.
