Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs – Trouble

Prodigious Wonder

Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs is a solo act from British electronic dance music record producer/DJ Orlando Higginbottom. The eccentric artist allegedly performs his gigs dressed up like a Stegosaurus while combining confetti canons and balloons within his unique act. His debut album, Trouble, was released in June 2012.

Trouble is an upbeat, fun album characterized by its catchy tunes and high danceability. The track “Household Goods” has a Daft Punk feel to it with its bouncy electro-house driven beats, and an array of samples. “American Dream Part II” is a stand out instrumental song which starts off with a slower tempo before accelerating into danceable bliss. The oddball pop and house music heard on this album is combined to form a very original, deft style of music. Atop the beats are lyrics of heartbreak, such as in the title track “Trouble”: “Now you’ve got me messed up/ Please believe me/ Looks like that’s done, you win/ I’ll be leaving now you make me happy/ Uh, I’m in trouble now.” Overall, the sound of this album is very unique, much like the personal style of Mr. Higginbottom himself. The songs blend well together, each one with its own individual funky sound. There are some real gems on here to be discovered.

This album is highly recommended for fans of progressive house music, dance music, as well as fans of bands like Daft Punk and Deadmau5. These brilliant well crafted tunes will have you dancing in no time.
