Efterklang’s fourth and newest album, Piramida, will be released on September 25th in North America on 4AD.
The inspiration for this album came after Mads Brauer, Casper Clausen and Rasmus Stolberg of the band explored an abandoned Russian settlement in Spitsbergen, an island near the North Pole. They recorded sounds there that inspired this recording.
This past May, Efterklang performed at the Sydney Opera House, premiering their album with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra.
They will perform their lone US show for 2012, and their first in two years, at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York on September 22nd, performing with the 19-piece Wordless Music Orchestra.
Tickets and more information is available here.
They also have shows scheduled in Europe and the UK this fall, with a US tour for early 2013. More information is available at www.efterklang.net.
