Twelve Frank Zappa Albums Set For Reissue on July 31

Universal Music Enterprises officially signed a deal with the Zappa Family Trust to hold the licensing and distribution rights for 60 of Frank Zappa’s recordings. Read on to find out what will be released first.

Widow Gail Zappa is heading up the release of the entire Zappa catalog. The first twelve albums will be released at the end of July, with the rest coming out sporadically throughout the rest of 2012. “It’s a win-win for all of us, but mostly for Frank Zappa. Long may his baton wave,” said widow, Gail Zappa.

The family has been promised that the label will pay proper respects and honor the accomplishments of this iconic musician, composer, bandleader, and filmmaker. “We intend to honor him and bring high quality releases, digital and physical, for his new and longtime fans,” said President/CEO of Universal Music Enterprises, Bruce Resnikoff.
