Members of Mad Season Reunite to Perform “River of Deceit”

The two surviving members of Mad Season performed “River of Deceipt” during Flight to Benefit show for the Chron’s & Colitis Foundation of America at Seattle’s Showbox Theater on Wednesday, May 16th. This performance is the first time in over two decades the song had been performed, and featured Loaded vocalist Jeff Rouse and bassist Rick Friel. Watch the video here.

Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready and former Screaming Trees drummer Barrett Martin are the two surviving members of the short lived yet much talked about musical act. Former Walkabouts bassist John Saunders, who has original co-founded Mad Season with McCready, died in 1999 and led to the band coming to an end. Former Alice In Chains vocalist Layne Staley, who sang on their 1995 release Above, died in 2002, and ended discussions of a potential reunion. But recently McCready and Martin had recently mentioned having material for a long awaited second release, and were seeking a vocalist to sing on the material.
