After a long sixteen years of silence from the neoclassical Australian duo, Dead Can Dance have announced a new album set to be released August 9. Lisa Gerrard and Brendan Perry have also announced that Dead Can Dance will be hitting the road for a worldwide tour in August. Check out the full list of tour dates after the jump.
It has been quite some time since 1996’s Spiritchaser. Back in January, DCD released a free EP to fans, but August 9 will mark their formal reemergence into the musical arena. On the date of their release, Lisa Gerrard and Brendan Perry will embark on their tour which starts at The Orpheum in Vancouver. DCD hasn’t toured since 2005, so it’s definitely an opportunity that fans should jump on.
When speaking of the new album, Perry said, “Lisa and myself are genuinely excited to be working together again in the studio. It will be a spring album to coincide with both natures awakening and the groups subsequent rebirth.” Although Dance Can Dance started off in Australia over 30 years ago, it appears that once again, they have awakened.
