It was recently announced on the Fleet Foxes Facebook that their frontman, Robin Pecknold, will be scoring a film entitled The Internet – A Blog Cats WTF Universe. The project is being directed by Sean Pecknold, Robin’s brother, who has previously directed some of the Fleet Foxes’ videos. As reported by Pitchfork, the film is about “an existential crisis experienced by one of the best LOLcat caption writers in the world.”
Expect live action shots, cartoons, hell, even a 3D animation of God. This film that fixates on ” a story of a man’s hopeless quest for truth among the cats.” In short, the film should try to bridge the gap between petty internet phenomenon with some of life’s most pressing existential questions.
The film is currently in the process of trying to raise $15,000 for funding, but the filmmakers have already said that they will give a free version of the completed projected to all donators. Check out the film’s kickstarter to learn more and to donate!
