Glen Hansard has just announced his solo debut, entitled Rhythm and Repose. The album is set to be released on June 19 via Anti-Records. More details after the jump.
For those of you unfamiliar with the name, Glen Hansard is probably best known for the role he played in Once, although he also has experience in the music world, with collaborations with The Swell Season and The Frames also under his belt. Expect Rhythm and Repose to very much be a NYC record, based around Hansard’s experience living in the city.
As reported by Paste, the album was recorded by Patrick Dillett, who has previously worked with David Byrne, and produced by Thomas Bartlett, whose known for working with The National and Antony and the Johnsons. There are a couple other noteworthy contributors, such as Rob Moose of Bon Iver and “half of Bruce Springsteen’s current horn section.”
