Via Pitchfork – Mission of Burma have announced their new album, Unsound, and have slated it for release in July of this year. It will be the band’s fourth record since reuniting, and their fifth effort overall. Check out more details, and the record’s first single, after the jump.

Mission of Burma initially broke up in 1983, when singer and guitarist Roger Miller developed tinnitus. Their reunion has been a rare treat, far exceeding their first round’s product in both quantity and, arguably, quality – the latter no small feat, as the band’s sole effort during their first incarnation was Vs., a minor classic.
The band is playing a few dates in Missouri and one in Spain in the near future.
