Electro for All
Marco Benassi, better known as Benny Benassi, is an Italian disc jockey and record producer of tech house music. He started DJing alongside cousin Alle Benassi in the late 1980s, before moving to a well-known music producer’s Off Limits production studio in the mid 90s and creating music for various acts. Benny first hit the dance floors with projects of his own in 2001, the song “Satisfaction” brought him worldwide success a year later with high profile DJs offering praises.
Electroman is Benassi’s fourth studio album, it’s an album that features several different contributing artists like Kelis (Black Eyed Peas), Chris Brown, Ying Yang Twins, Dhany, Jean-Baptiste, Gary Go, & includes a Skrillex remix of the smash hit song “Cinema.” It’s a mix of different music styles ranging from trance to house music to hip hop & electro. The first song on this album titled “Good Girl” starts off well and is a little reminiscent of Daft Punk with its has a techno synth beat with a repeated loop of obedience school type commands. The title track “Electroman” is a catchy collaboration with the artist T-Pain, and then there’s the instrumental song “Automatic” which is trance like.
There’s definitely some good variety on this album which offers several different musical styles and it maintains the Benassi signature sound overall. Electroman is full of high energy, danceable music that is well worthy of find its way into clubs in addition to some sultry sounding vocal tracks. This is an album that is recommended for any and all house/electro lovers.
