Alabama Shakes made their amazing television debut on Conan the other day. Watch video of the performance after the jump.
Pulling influence from their early days covering James Brown and Led Zeppelin, soul/rock band Alabama Shakes rocked the house at Conan recently. This performance marks their first on national television. The group got their start in Athens, Alabama when lead singer Brittany Howard approached bassist Zac Cockrell, and drummer Steve Johnson about starting a band. Other current members are Heath Fogg and Ben Tanner.
On the show they performed tracks from their upcoming debut record, Boys and Girls. Their visit to the show was in promotion of this album, which has an April 10, 2012 release date. The band will also be headed out on tour across the U.S. and Europe starting at the end of this month.
