Three years back Chairlift played the very same stage at the very same party thrown by Under the Radar magazine. Three years means the world of difference in this case. The band’s sound is polished and articulate now, vastly improving on their peppy brand of indie pop. With the addition of extra keyboardist, the blippy synths now sound colorful instead of mediocre. Lead singer Caroline Polachek has found her stage confidence, nimbly putting forth her falsetto acrobatics in with impressive skill. Three years on and now they’re headlining the same stage at the same party. It’s no surprise.
