The electronic band Modeselektor has announced that they will be touring North America this coming April. After releasing their third album Monkeytown last year, they’re finally allowing Americans and Canadians to experience their talent live. The tour will be surrounding the band’s two performances at Coachella.
The main members of Modeselektor, Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary, met in Berlin in 1992 at an illegal underground party that featured live acid music. The band was originally known as Fundamental Knowledge but changed the name to Modeselektor in 1996. The techno band blends IDM, glitch, hip hop, and Electro house, but they don’t like to label themselves as any one style.
In their most recent album, Modeselektor features hard-hitting club music that is best experienced live. The band’s live performances exude energy, heavy bass, and humor.
