Fans of At the Drive-In should not expect a new album from the band any time soon. Its guitarist has set the record straight that their recent reunion is only for nostalgia purposes.
The group At the Drive-In has gotten back together, but not for everyone’s entertainment. Omar Rodriguez-Lopez, a guitarist in the band has now stated that they are only performing for the memory of it, and to act on financial deals that the group has been offered over the years since their ending.
In a comment to NME Rodriguez-Lopez expressed that, “Obviously [the reunion] is going to be weird. It’s like getting back with your ex-wife, only in this case there are four ex-wives!” And for those interested, the group will be performing at Coachella as we announced here, and the Benicassim Festival in Spain on July 12, 2012.
