Fiona Apple may be poised to re-enter the music scene. Now, in addition to playing the Pitchfork SXSW Showcase on March 15, Apple will embark on a brief post-SXSW tour that will cover six stops from Chicago to Boston. Full tour dates available after the jump.
Fans are hoping that the tour will coincide with the release of her long-coming and fraught new record, which would be her first release since 2005’s Extraordinary Machine. The singer’s long absence may be due in part to the consistent controversy that has surrounded her career, including a breakdown in 1997, album controversy, and a 1998 revelation that she had the victim of child abuse. The forthcoming album has also seen its share of drama.
No release date has been set, though the record’s label Epic, assures gun-shy fans that it will be soon.
According to Twentyfourbit, tickets go on sale for Flavorpill subscribers on Thursday, February 23, 10am – 10pm EST. The sale will the open up to the general public at noon the following day.
