Genre-spanning instrumentalists This Will Destroy You have released a video to their track “Black Dunes” off of their latest album Tunnel Blanket, available now from Suicide Squeeze. The group will also round out a U.S. tour on the 18th, and have so far hit venues from Massachusetts and Texas. Watch the video after the jump.
The video was directed by Malcolm Elijah, who has handled production for Pure X’s “Surface,” and “Easy.” The lonesome and disquieting clip accompanies This Will Destroy You’s elemental composition, creating a world of solitary and ghostly wanderings through a poorly-repaired house.
This Will Destroy you has been making their mark on the instrumental scene since the group came together in 2005. Their effects and dynamics-laden sound has been featured on two full-length studio albums, This Will Destroy You in 2008, and Tunnel Blanket in 2011. Though they have been largely reviewed as members of the “post-rock” designation, the group has rejected this taxonomy saying that their sound is a combination of doom metal and shoegaze.
