As reported by Prefix Magazine, Richard Hawley won’t be joining Pulp on their trip across the Atlantic for their reunion tour because he has plans of his own. Come May 7, his new album, Standing at the Sky’s Edge, will be released.
Richard Hawley started his career as a member of Pulp, then contributed to Jarvis’ solo endeavor. It took him a while to launch a solo career for himself, but now that he has, he’s been charing forward at full speed. Standing at the Sky’s Edge is being put out on a major label, Parlophone, so that he can access a wide variety of listeners.
This album will be Hawley’s followup on his dark, career-changing album Trulove’s Gutter, which came out in 2009. Fans of Hawley should be prepared to see him in a new light come May. He said, “I wanted to get away from the orchestration of my previous records and make a live album with two guitars, bass, drums and rocket noises
