How’s this for a team? Andre 3000, James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem, and the Gorillaz? Well, as of February 23, their collective track, “DoYaThing” will be made available to the public, along with what should be a stimulating music video.
Back in August, we reported the first collaborative track being put out on Converse’s “Three Artists. One Song” project, featuring Soulja Boy, Andrew W.K. and Matt & Kim. Come February 23, we’ll have Converse’s newest installation of this project. As reported by Consequence of Sound, the Gorillaz’ Damon Alburn will be rapping the first 2 verses in “DoYaThing”. Later on down the road, an explicit, 12-minute version of the song will also be released.
Once the track surfaces, fans will be able to view Gorillaz’ Jamie Hewlett’s new video as well. Apparently, the video will feature “a baboon in a martial arts outfit and a masked topless bloke.” The video for “DoYaThing” should be nothing less than spectacular, since the Gorillaz have a history of puting out awesome videos.
