South African zef rap-rave group Die Antwoord have released a new track off of their forthcoming album, Ten$ion, due out from the group’s independent label Zef Recordz on February 7. Check out the track “I Fink U Freeky” via Pitchfork after the jump.
As previously reported, the group’s partnership with Interscope Records ended after the label suggested changes be made to their intitial submission of Ten$ion, specifically to its lead single, “Fok Julle Naaiers” which roughly translate to “Fuck You All.” The formation of the group’s independent label has allowed Die Antwoord to continue to cultivate the artistic aspects of shock value in their recorded music.
“U know what, rather hang on to your money, buy yourself something nice…we gonna do our own thing. Bye bye,” said the group in their online diary. Ten$ion was set to be the group’s second release from Interscope following the critically-acclaimed 2010 effort $0$.
