Grammy nominated group The Decemberists are set to release their next album, We All Raise Our Voices to the Air this March. The album is a collection of live recordings from their early 2011 tour which supported their previous album The King is Dead.
Coming off the success of The King is Dead, The Decemberists are ready to release their newest album, We All Raise Our Voices to the Air on March 13, 2012 via Capitol Records. After the band’s performance at the Beacon Theatre last year, the New York Post‘s Dan Aquilante wrote about King, “Songs from that record made the best case for why the group should be superstars.” Previous records include Castaways and Cutouts (2002), Her Majesty the Decemberists (2003), Picaresque (2005), The Crane Wife (2006), and The Hazards of Love (2009).
The Decemberists began in 2001 in Portland, Oregon and have been recognized as a significant folk rock band of today. King debuted at #1 on the Billboard top 200 and it was predicted by TIME that it would “…mark their crossover into the realm of important American rock groups alongside the likes of Wilco and the White Stripes.” The group’s current members are Colin Meloy, Jenny Conlee, Chris Funk, Nate Query, John Moen and Sara Watkins.
