Red Hot Chili Peppers Reschedule U.S. Tour Dates Due to Anthony Kiedis’ Foot Injuries

The Red Hot Chili Peppers have rescheduled their January tour dates following singer Anthony Keidis’ surgeries repairing injuries to his right foot. The singer is expected to make a full recovery before the March 31 kick-off of reschedule tour.  Check out revised tour dates after the jump.

In an official statement, the group says that Keidis is expected to make a full recovery after undergoing surgery to repair “a crushed sesamoid bone and correct a detached flexor tendon in his foot.” According to Billboard, the cause of Keidis’ injury is unknown at this time, though a January 8 sighting of the singer at a Lakers game has confirmed that his right foot is in its expected cast. The singer is expected to make a full recovery before the March 31 kick-off of the revised tour dates.

The tour is in support of the group’s current Grammy-nominated album I’m With You, released by Warner Brothers in August of 2011. The album is the Peppers’ first studio effort since 2006’s Stadium Arcadium, and the first since the departure of former lead guitarist John Frusciante. Guitar duties have since been taken over by Frusciante’s friend and collaborator, Josh Klinghoffer.

Tickets purchased for the original dates will honored at the rescheduled dates. Fan are encouraged to stay tuned to the group’s official site for further developments.
