Twin Sister – In Heaven

Debbie Harry on Acid?

I read an online blog where someone said that they took acid and couldn’t wait to listen to Twin Sister’s In Heaven. I’ve never dropped acid, but when I close my eyes and take them in, Twin Sister take me on a trippy ride where I imagine floating on a cloud surrounded by neon flowers. Their melodies are superb and vocalist Andrea Estella is sure to melt the ice on the coldest of hearts.

If this sounds a bit too hippy for you, don’t be afraid. Twin Sister’s songs sport the kind of club groove that will make your bop your head rather than shake it. The best of these is unquestioningly “Kimmi in a Rice Field.” It’s a mesmerizing melodic journey that begs for repeat listens. If you don’t believe me, just check out their video on YouTube.

Estella may look like a fairy on crack but don’t be fooled. She has all kinds of cool charisma. You know, the really cool charisma that says, “I’m a bitchin pop star but I don’t give a damn about my success.” Remember Debbie Harry from Blonde? That charisma. Estella’s vocals on “Bad Street” recall Harry at her best.

If you buy just one new album this month, In Heaven should be it. The only bad thing I can say is that the album is just not long enough. Give us more!
