Carrie Brownstein and Fred Armisen’s December 30 San Francisco stop on their current “Portlandia”-supporting tour got special Thao & Mirah collaborative performance. The groups teamed up for a cover of Salt-N-Pepa’s “Push It.” Watch Stereogum’s coverage of the performance after the jump.
Sketch comedians/musicians Armisen and Brownstein kicked of the tour in December in support of season two of the show. Both comedians found their starts in music; Brownstein as a guitarist for Sleater-Kinney and Arminsen as a rock drummer.
Thao and Mirah are fresh off of a December 7 appearance at Rhapsody’s 10th Anniversary Party alongside acts Built to Spill, DJ Set from John Richards and KEXP.
